Coobowie is a small town at the south-eastern tip of Yorke Peninsula, South Australia. Coobowie was proclaimed in 1875. Coobowie comes from an Aboriginal word meaning "wild fowl water".[2] At the 2006 census, Coobowie had a population of 408.[1]
